Get off your AWA here

Had enough of your individual contract? You’re not alone.

Even if your AWA or ITEA is still current, Alliance members are pushing for News Ltd to agree to the reasonable request of people who wish to move across to the collective agreement.

The collective agreement legally guarantees regular minimum pay rises and redundancy payments. Most AWAs we have analysed do not have these provisions and rely upon current company policy which can change at any time.

The Alliance is assisting people who want to terminate their AWA and become covered by the collective agreement. We have already been contacted by more than 100 people at News Ltd who want to move off their individual contracts and return to the protection of the collective agreement. The bottom line is that no-one should lose money when they transfer across.

If you are on an existing AWA it will continue to operate unless it is terminated. Existing AWAs can be terminated by agreement between you and your employer at any time or after the AWA expiry date upon application to Fair Work Australia.
