Judith Kerr

22 years in journalism; 10 years with Qld Newspapers - Jude started a cadetship with the Latrobe Valley Express in 1987 before moving to Leader Newspapers for two years. The overseas travel bug bit a couple of years later and she spent three years in London working on the Garnett Press and Sunday Sport before heading to Bangkok where she got her first subbing experience on the Nation News.

After a short stint on the Phnom Penh Post, she returned to reporting on the South China Morning Post in Hongkong and spent some time on the Asian Wall St Journal.

Jude returned to Australia for a stint subbing on News Radio in Sydney before accepting a subbing job at the Townsville Bulletin.
In 1998, she took a job as a reporter on Brisbane Queensland while working at night as a sub-editor on the Courier-Mail, quickly becoming a regular six shift-a week casual.

In recent years, she was known as a careful and meticulous producer of The Courier-Mail’s Obituaries section.
